Prenatal Breastfeeding Consult

A 90-minute session for pregnant mums who want to feel ready for breastfeeding, understand how it works, and prepare for common challenges before baby arrives.

  • You’re a first-time mum, unsure what to expect when your baby arrives — and uncertain if you should be latching or not.

Today, the internet will tell you to latch. Or to pump. Or that breast is best. It’s a lot to take in.

I’m here to guide you through the space safely with no judgment.

  • Ideally in your third trimester (around Weeks 32–36). This gives you time to absorb the information and ask questions without the rush.

  • Breastfeeding Fundamentals

    • How milk production works and how to protect your supply

    • How to position your baby comfortably at the breast for a good latch

    • Proper techniques for pumping and bottle feeding

    • When and how to introduce a bottle

Getting Off to a Confident Start

    • The benefits of skin-to-skin, hand expression, and collecting colostrum before birth

    • How to tell if breastfeeding is going well in the early days

    • What to expect and how to avoid common issues like engorgement, sore nipples, or low milk supply

    Planning for Support

    • How partners and family can support your breastfeeding goals

    • Defining what success looks like for you

    • Creating a flexible plan for the first few weeks, knowing things may not always go as planned

In our 1:1 session at your home, we’ll go through easy-to-follow PowerPoint slides, have open discussions, and get hands-on practice with a demo doll to help you feel ready and confident.

  • S$270 for a 90 minutes session

Frequently Asked Questions

Because it’s so common to have 101 questions about breastfeeding and your session with a Lactation Consultant.

Here are some I hear most often.

& If you’ve any other questions I didn’t answer, drop me a WhatsApp in the link below!

  • It’s ideal to book your prenatal consult in the third trimester, around 32–36 weeks.

This gives you time to understand how breastfeeding works, prepare both mentally and practically, and explore colostrum harvesting if you wish.

  • The earlier the better — ideally in the first 1–2 weeks after giving birth, when your milk supply is still being established.

But it’s never too late to seek support. Whether you're weeks or months in, I can help you troubleshoot challenges and rebuild your confidence.

  • If possible, try to offer your baby a feed about two hours before our session, so they’re more likely to feed during the consult — and don’t worry if they’re hungry earlier. You can offer them a small feed if that’s what they need. Flexibility is totally okay.

I also invite mums to expose their breasts (as you’re comfortable), so I can observe how baby fits and feeds in real time. This helps me guide you more effectively.

  • That’s okay! The session isn’t about performance — it’s about learning.

We’ll focus on understanding how babies suck and swallow, how to support your baby’s feeding reflexes, and the small, subtle adjustments you can make to positioning to ease nipple pain and improve milk transfer—so you can keep experimenting and finding what works even after the session.

Plus, you’ll receive 1 week of follow-up text support to continue receiving guidance after I leave.

  • Yes, absolutely. In fact, I encourage it.

Breastfeeding works best when everyone is on the same page. Partners, caregivers, or grandparents are welcome to be part of the session if you’re comfortable.

  • Not at all. Whether you’re:

    • Exclusively breastfeeding

    • Combo feeding

    • Expressing and bottle-feeding

    • Weaning or preparing to return to work

I support you wherever you are in your journey. There is no one “right” way to feed a baby — only the way that feels right for you and your family.

  • Yes — because feeding, sleep, and sensory needs are all connected.

I offer integrated sleep education based on the Possums Sleep Program — a research-based, baby-friendly sleep approach that supports feeding without using rigid routines or sleep training.

When you book a consult, you’ll receive 50% off the online self-paced Possums Sleep Program.

If sleep is something you’d like to explore, we can absolutely talk about it during your session.

  • NDC (also known as the Possums Programs) is a holistic, evidence-based framework that recognises how your baby’s feeding, sleep, sensory development, and your wellbeing are all deeply connected.

I’m proud to be the only certified NDC practitioner in Singapore.
