A gentle note for fellow Mums.
Maybe you’re pregnant and quietly worrying, what if I can’t feed my baby?
Maybe you’ve just given birth and you’re sore, unsure if your latch is right, scared you might hurt your baby — or yourself.
Maybe you’re wondering if you’re making enough milk… or if you’re doing any of this right.
And if you’re here, it’s because you care deeply about your baby. You want to give them the best — and you want feeding to feel less like a struggle — maybe even something you can enjoy.
We'll work together to find what works for you — feeding in a way that feels good, makes sense for your family, and is backed by solid information, not pressure.

Hi, I’m Liying. I’m an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) practitioner with a background in social work.
When I became a mum, I was overwhelmed by all the advice — so much of it clashed and didn’t really fit me and my baby.
Breastfeeding didn’t come easy for me. I had pain. I had doubt. And I kept wondering: why something so natural could feel so hard?
That’s exactly why I do what I do.
When we work together, I pinky promise you won’t just get advice. You’ll get kind, personalized support from someone who takes the time to listen and get to know you and your baby.
As a social worker, I’ve seen just about every challenge you can imagine. And I know strong families begin in the small moments — the middle-of-the-night feeds, the early days of bonding, the vulnerable questions we’re often too afraid to ask.
So, I take a holistic approach to breastfeeding support — because it's never just about milk.
I help you build a breastfeeding plan that supports your baby’s sensory world, your wellbeing, your sleep, and your connection — so breastfeeding feels more comfortable and connected for you and your baby.
The kind of breastfeeding support I wish I had when I was a new mum
Support That Sees
the Whole You
Breastfeeding isn’t just about milk— it’s tied to how you’re feeling, how your baby is sleeping, and how you’re both adjusting to life together.
That’s where I come in — with a gentle, whole-picture approach rooted in Neuroprotective Developmental Care Principles, to help you make sense of it all and ease your load, body and mind.
Guidance That Cuts Through the Confusion
You don’t need more advice— you need guidance that fits you and your baby, right where you are.
I offer gentle, practical steps tailored to your unique feeding journey — whether you're working through a shallow latch, sore nipples, or a baby who’s fussy at the breast — without making you feel like a bad mum.
Care Without Pressure or Judgment
You won’t be told to “just try harder”, like I was.
Or pushed to do things a certain way.
Instead, I offer a safe space to explore what feels right for you and your family. I’ll hold that space for you so you can move forward with more confidence, flexibility, and trust in yourself, knowing that your decisions are grounded in what matters to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Because it’s so common to have 101 questions about breastfeeding and your session with a Lactation Consultant.
Here are some I hear most often.
& If you’ve any other questions I didn’t answer, drop me a WhatsApp in the link below!
-
It’s ideal to book your prenatal consult in the third trimester, around 32–36 weeks.
This gives you time to understand how breastfeeding works, prepare both mentally and practically, and explore colostrum harvesting if you wish.
-
The earlier the better — ideally in the first 1–2 weeks after giving birth, when your milk supply is still being established.
But it’s never too late to seek support. Whether you're weeks or months in, I can help you troubleshoot challenges and rebuild your confidence.
-
If possible, try to offer your baby a feed about two hours before our session, so they’re more likely to feed during the consult — and don’t worry if they’re hungry earlier. You can offer them a small feed if that’s what they need. Flexibility is totally okay.
I also invite mums to expose their breasts (as you’re comfortable), so I can observe how baby fits and feeds in real time. This helps me guide you more effectively.
-
That’s okay! The session isn’t about performance — it’s about learning.
We’ll focus on understanding how babies suck and swallow, how to support your baby’s feeding reflexes, and the small, subtle adjustments you can make to positioning to ease nipple pain and improve milk transfer—so you can keep experimenting and finding what works even after the session.
Plus, you’ll receive 1 week of follow-up text support to continue receiving guidance after I leave.

Breastfeeding works best when everyone is on the same page. Partners, caregivers, or grandparents are welcome to be part of the session if you’re comfortable.

Not at all. Whether you’re:
